Willis Towers Watson Celebrates Brace of European Risk Management Awards

Targeted News Service (Press Releases)

LONDON, Nov. 9 -- Willis Towers Watson, an advisory, broking and solutions company, issued the following news release:

Willis Towers Watson (NASDAQ:WLTW), a leading global advisory, broking, and solutions company, is celebrating winning two awards for its innovations in cyber risk and captives at the prestigious European Risk Management Awards.

The awards are led by the Federation of European Risk Management Associations (FERMA) in conjunction with Commercial Risk Europe (CRE), the publication for the European corporate risk and insurance management community.

Willis Towers Watson won top place in the categories 'Captive Management Solution of the Year' and 'Broker Innovation of the Year'. The results were announced at a ceremony in London last night.

Paul Morris, Head of Western Europe, Willis Towers Watson, said: "We are thrilled that Europe's leading risk management body has named us the winner of two awards. These wins reflect our commitment to developing innovative solutions that keep us at the cutting edge. Recognition like this only comes about through close teamwork and a dedication to client service.

The win for 'Broker Innovation of the Year' was given for Willis Towers Watson's CyFly solution, which is designed to respond to the cyber risk concerns of airline clients.

Commenting on the award, John Rooley, CEO, Willis Towers Watson Global Aerospace, said: "We are delighted to win this prestigious award with our cyber team colleagues. Our extensive industry knowledge means we are uniquely positioned to interpret client needs. The launch of CyFly was a key moment for the global airline industry as it seeks solutions for the growing cyber threat.

Olivia Cooper, Head of FINEX for Great Britain, Willis Towers Watson, added: "We are delighted to win this award for CyFly, which showcases our innovative approach to cyber risk. Two thirds of cyber incidents are caused by employees, which is why we look at mitigating people, capital and technology risks to help clients foster a cyber-savvy workforce.

The win for 'Captive Management Solution of the Year' was given for Willis Towers Watson's RADAR solution, which helps clients manage the OECD's Base Erosion and Profit Shifting ('BEPS') framework.

Commenting on the award, Ciaran Healy, Director of Consulting for the Willis Towers Watson Global Captive Practice, said: "We pride ourselves on going further for clients in delivering exceptional, market-leading solutions that provide measurable value - both financial and strategic. Our BEPS solution RADAR is an outstanding example of that 'total service' commitment.

FERMA brings together 22 member associations from 21 countries across Europe. Together the associations represent more than 4,700 risk and insurance managers.
