Dec. 23--A 27-year-old Marion man was arrested following a one-car crash early Saturday morning at the intersection of Jeffrey Road and Route 21 in the town of Palmyra.
Sheriff Deputies charged William L. Bond with driving while intoxicated. Bond was also ticketed with first-degree aggravated unlicensed operator, failure to stop at a stop sign, and speed not reasonable and prudent.
The arrest stems from a single motor vehicle collision at the intersection of Jeffrey Road and Route 21 in Palmyra. Deputies report the accident occurred when the Bond failed to stop at the stop sign on Jeffrey Road and exited the roadway on the east side of Route 21 and into the ditch.
Bond was arrested at the scene and brought to the Wayne County Office of the Sheriff for
processing. According to deputies, Bond refused to give deputies a chemical breath test sample. Bond was arraigned in Town of Palmyra Court and sent to the Wayne County Jail in lieu of $5,000.00 cash bail or $10,000.00 insurance bond. Bond is to reappear in the Town of Palmyra Court at a later date for further court proceedings.
