Warren Fire Department and Ragged Island Brewing team up to offer gift boxes
Providence Journal (RI)
The Warren Fire Department has crafted an exclusive limited-edition gift box with Ragged Island Brewing's special "The Green Machine Ale," a collectible pint glass, commemorative T-shirt and more to benefit the 911 Tribute Funds.
The Portsmouth brewery named the IPA after “The Green Machine,” Warren's custom-built Ward LaFrance 1,000 gallon-per-minute pumper.
The gift box supports Fire Department's plans for the 236th Annual Bristol 4th of July Parade parade, which will mark the 20th Commemoration of the attacks on September 11, 2001 and the 343 firefighters who lost their lives.
"We are in the process of raising nearly $30,000 to cover the cost of the float, T-shirts and other items to ensure an evocative experience," said the press release about the fundraiser. Funds left over from the event will be donated to the Warren Firefighter Relief Fund in order to assist the department in the face of tragedy
Malik's Fine Wines and Spirits, 254 Market St, Warren, will stock the gift boxes, $49.99, which include a four pack of the exclusive New England IPA, the glass, T-shirt and can cooler.
T-shirts and pint glasses are also available separately by contacting the Fire Chief's office.
The beer, with tropical and fruity notes, has a one-of-a-kind label sketched by Warren artist, Richard Kaiser.
