Venice, Fla., Issues Public Comment on FEMA Notice

WASHINGTON, Sept. 16 -- Venice, Florida, has issued a public comment on the Federal Emergency Management Agency notice entitled "Request for Information: National Flood Insurance Program's Community Rating System". The comment was posted on Sept. 15, 2021:

We have had an issue with communities under the jurisdiction of Venice that are not receiving the CRS discount because the area is given a different city by the post office.

We have many areas throughout our county that are given different names by the post office, but fall under a different jurisdiction name.

It seems to be a larger problem the more I promote the discount aspect.

Can someone please contact me so if I need to explain more.

It seems there is a disconnect between the NFIP and the carriers.

The insurance agents are adding the correct community number, but the city is what is causing the issue.
