Uber invests more than $1 billion in Prop 22 benefits for CA Drivers and Couriers

Proposition 22 (Prop 22) provides historic and important protections and guarantees to workers in California. Since its passage in 2020, California drivers and couriers have received more than a billion dollars from the minimum earnings guarantee and additional benefits from Uber - a testament to the impact this law continues to have.

Those historic new benefits and protections (which we proudly support) include:

Minimum Earnings Guarantee:Earners are guaranteed to receiveat least120% of minimum wage and $0.35 per mile when they accept a ride or delivery. This is a floor-drivers and couriers often eamore and tips are paid out on top of those earnings.
Health Care Stipend: Qualifying drivers who otherwise do not have access to a plan receive up to $489.54 per monthto help cover the cost of healthcare insurance.
Occupational Accident Insurance:Prop 22 requires platforms like Uber to provide additional insurance that covers medical expenses and lost income up to $1 million resulting from injuries and illnesses experienced on the job.
