This is an ongoing investigation, but at this time, neither the use of alcohol, nor narcotics is suspected as having contributed to this crash. Laughlin was not wearing a seat belt which Treon believes would have prevented his ejection and reduced the severity of his injuries suffered in the crash. McGlan was wearing a seat belt which helped reduce the severity his injuries.
Laughlin was cited for reckless driving causing injury and following another vehicle too closely. McGlan was issued citations for driving while suspended and not having proof of auto insurance.
