Toucan’s on the Beach planning to rebuild and reopen after Hurricane Michael

March 21-- Mar. 21--MEXICO BEACH -- An iconic Mexico Beach restaurant is planning a comeback after being severely damaged by Hurricane Michael.

Toucan's on the Beach announced on their Facebook page this week they intend to rebuild the restaurant "bigger and better than ever."

"It may take a little while but we will be back in MEXICO BEACH!," the post reads. The page also teased "big news coming soon."

No timeline has been given for the rebuild and repairs, as the post states the restaurant is still going through the insurance process.

Nearby, the El Governor Motel is also in the process of being restored.
