Egg hunt for adults benefits Shop with a Cop.

Bedford County's Shop with a Cop program, which allows youngsters to accompany members of law enforcement to buy gifts in December, will, hold an Easter egg hunt for aged 18 and older on Saturday, April 9, at the Bedford Elks Country Club. Registration begins at 7 and the hunt starts at 8. Cost is $15 perr person, cash only, and participants must supply their own flashlight or head lamp. Proper shoe wear is recommended. Prizes will be included with eggs.

Farm Bureau schedules safety training.

Bedford County Farm Bureau and Nationwide Insurance will host a member nenefits, pesticide applicators and safety trainings. The sessions will be held Wednesday, March 2 at the 4-H Building at the Bedford County Fairgrounds. Registration is at 9:45 a.m. with the program set to start at 10 and conclude around 12:15. This training will be conducted by Nationwide Insurance Risk Management Services Unit, which offers ways to keep businesses and employees safe. Those in attendance will receive 2 Core and 2 Category Points towards their state Pesticide Applicators License. The topics that will covered are: Applicator and Environmental Safety, Personal Protective Equipment, Chemical Application Stewardship, Application Claims and Prevention and Weeds, Insects and Diseases – Management and Control. Breast cancer support group meets.

The Bedford County Pink Ribbon Fund will hold a breast cancer support group meeting on Wednesday at 6 p.m. at ProCare. Contact Cindy Speck for more information or questions at [email protected].

Bedford County Technical Center will host an open house Wednesday.

The open house will allow potential students and their families to see the school, its programs, and the instructors and staff as well as some current students. Potential students will learn about post-high school academic and career opportunities available at the BCTC. The open house will be held from 5:30 to 8 p.m.
