Top Hill Staffer To Join American Council Of Life Insurers
WASHINGTON, Dec. 12 (TNSPer) -- The American Council of Life Insurers issued the following news release:
Kimberly Ross will join the American Council of Life Insurers (ACLI) this month after two decades of holding leading staff positions in the U.S. House of Representatives and Senate.
"We're so pleased to welcome Kimberly and her wealth of experience to ACLI," said President and CEO Susan K. Neely. "She joins our association at a time when the financial protection and security of Americans is a top concern, and our membership is focused on safeguarding and expanding financial wellbeing and inclusion for all Americans."
"Kimberly will be an outstanding leader for ACLI's federal relations team," said Joyce Y. Meyer, Executive Vice President for Government Relations. "Kimberly's extensive experience in advancing and developing legislative solutions to meet societal needs with broad-based support will help our industry build on its strong legacy and make substantial contributions in moving America forward."
"I am delighted to join the stellar ACLI team and look forward to being able to continue working on issues that help American families secure their financial future and our nation close its economic divides," said Ross.
Ross is leaving her long-time position as Chief of Staff and Chief Counsel to Rep. Joyce Beatty to take the ACLI position of Senior Vice President, Federal Government Relations, starting December 21.
In this position, Ross will lead a team of federal government relations professionals focused on a wide range of financial protection and retirement security issues.
Ross previously served as Staff Director and Counsel for the House Committee on Veteran's Affairs DAMA Subcommittee, where her work focused on disability and insurance policy for veterans, their families and survivors. She also served as the Legislative Director and Counsel for the late Rep. Elijah Cummings, and Senior Legislative Assistant to Sen. Barbara Mikulski. She has been a regulatory attorney for Sprint and a staff attorney for the Maryland Public Service Commission.
Ross has a law degree from the University of Maryland Carey School of Law, where she now serves on the Board of Visitors, and an undergraduate degree from Notre Dame University of Maryland. She is a member of the Maryland Bar and Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., and lives in Bowie, MD, with her husband.
