Tina Tufano Elected President of ASPPA Benefits Council’s New England Chapter

WEST HARTFORD, Conn., Jan. 12, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- Hooker & Holcombe is pleased to announce Tina Tufano, senior ERISA compliance specialist for the firm's retirement services group, was elected president of ASPPA Benefits Council (ABC) New England for the 2018-2019 term. Tina has been a chapter member since 2013, serving on the Board in various capacities. As chapter president, Tina will be responsible for organizing educational and networking events for pension professionals and plan sponsors, keeping members current with industry developments and governmental affairs.

The ABC of New England is comprised of a group of dedicated pension professionals, based primarily in and around the Boston area. Membership consist of accountants, investment advisors, attorneys, actuaries and benefit analysts from small and large institutions. The organization conducts a number of workshops throughout the year, all of which qualify for ASPPA CE Credit.

As a key member of Hooker & Holcombe's ERISA compliance team, Tina is responsible for providing compliance guidance to plan sponsors and colleagues regarding qualified retirement plan issues governed by federal ERISA law. With over 20 years of experience, her expertise includes plan design, IRS and DOL audits, investigation support, Form 5500 preparation and audit support. In addition to her ABC role, Tina serves as president of the Connecticut Chapter of the National Institute of Pension Administrators (NIPA). Tina is a Qualified Plan Administrator (QPA), a Qualified 401(k) Administrator (QKA), an Accredited Pension Administrator (APA), and an Enrolled Retirement Plan Agent (ERPA).
