Feb. 28-- Feb. 28--Three people were injured Wednesday when two vehicles collided at the intersection of 770th Avenue and 255th Street, north of Albert Lea.
Teranie Shian Riley, 23, of Albert Lea; Kamdyn Lane Trevino, 1, a passenger in her car; and John Scrabeck, 86, of Clarks Grove reportedly each sustained at least one injury deemed not life-threatening and were taken to Mayo Clinic Health System in Albert Lea by Gold Cross Ambulance.
Riley was the only person taken to Mayo Clinic Health System in Albert Lea for her injury.
Riley was driving a 2006 Pontiac Grand Prix south on 770th Avenue when a Mazda 3 driven by Scrabeck, heading east on 255th Street, stopped at the stop sign and proceeded across 255th Street to turn north on 770th Avenue in front of the Pontiac, according to the Freeborn County Sheriff's Office. The Pontiac then struck the driver's door of the Mazda.
The crash was reported at 5:04 p.m.
Deputies cited Scrabeck for failure to yield to oncoming traffic at a stop sign and Riley for having no insurance.
Alcohol was not a factor in the crash, and all three people were wearing their seat belts, the report states.
Minnesota State Patrol, Clarks Grove Fire Department and Allen's Tow 'n Travel assisted on scene.
