The Standard Earns Best Place to Work Designation and Perfect Score on 2019 Human Rights Campaign Corporate Equality Index

Business Wire

PORTLAND, Ore.--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Standard Insurance Company (The Standard) is proud to announce that for the third consecutive year it has received a perfect score on the 2019 Corporate Equality Index from the Human Rights Campaign Foundation. The CEI is a national benchmarking survey and report that evaluates organizations on corporate policies and practices that support workplace equality for the LGBTQ community.

“At The Standard, we are committed to an open and inclusive culture that welcomes ideas and perspectives from all employees and inspires them to bring their best to work every day,” said Sally Manafi, vice president, corporate actuary, chief risk officer and executive sponsor of StandOUT, The Standard’s LGBTQ employee resource group. “We believe greater inclusiveness makes The Standard stronger and helps us better see, serve and listen to our diverse customers and partners across America.”

The 2019 CEI evaluates LGBTQ-related policies and practices including non-discrimination workplace protections, domestic partner benefits, transgender-inclusive health care benefits, competency programs and public engagement with the LGBTQ community. The Standard’s efforts in meeting or exceeding all of the CEI’s criteria resulted in a 100 percent ranking and designation as a Best Place to Work.

The Human Rights Campaign Foundation is the educational arm of America's largest civil rights organization working to achieve equality for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and queer people.
