The Phoenix, a Leading Israeli Insurance Company, Innovates with SaaS by Selecting TestCraft’s Cloud-Based Solution for Software Testing (QA)

PR Newswire

TEL AVIV, Israel, December 4, 2017 /PRNewswire/ --

Financial services companies usually shy away from cloud-based solutions for a variety of security and compliance reasons. The Phoenix Insurance Company Ltd., one of the largest insurance companies in Israel, decided to break that mold.

Picking TestCraft, a codeless test automation SaaS platform as its next-generation software testing platform, The Phoenix signals its desire to lead the technology forefront. This breakthrough move by The Phoenix coincides with Gartner's prediction that "By 2020, a corporate 'no-cloud' policy will be as rare as a 'no-internet' policy is today."

The Phoenix will use TestCraft to automate much of its manual software testing operations. This forward-thinking move will allow The Phoenix to develop its applications faster and better relying on modern agile development and deployment methodologies. Further automation of testing also results in safer applications, reducing risks of breaches. To clear the hurdle, TestCraft had to provide substantial security proofs and certifications, including an ISO 27001 certification.

After a detailed POC, The Phoenix reports that the implementation has been successful and it is now in the process of expanding test automation gradually to other organizational arms. The Phoenix is already showing a dramatic improvement in testing and application monitoring productivity.

"The efficiency potential of TestCraft is so promising, that we are looking now to implement TestCraft's codeless automation across a wide variety of our systems and expect to triple the efficiency of our quality operations. Chen Halio, who leads the QA team and IT innovation in our organization has proven that seeking groundbreaking innovative solutions pays off," says Shlomo Shamai, The Phoenix's Chief Information Officer.

The Phoenix has a 45-strong team of QA testers (a considerable number for a non-tech company) that until now has largely operated manually. It has built over the years a sprawling, user-facing network of websites that require constant testing, monitoring, and upgrading. The reliance on manual testing has been a burden for the insurance giant, holding back their efforts to optimize and improve their online presence.

Most of The Phoenix's QA testers come from an insurance background, not a technical one, due to the complex nature of their business. The solution they were looking for had to abide by specific requirements in regards to testers background and offer a non-technical, codeless interface with simple maintenance that is applicable to different business scenarios. On top of that, the chosen solution had to apply to the strict security standards of the insurance industry. TestCraft's platform answered all their needs.

Dror Todress, TestCraft's Co-Founder and CEO says that, "Winning The Phoenix contract is a testament to the strength of our platform and the validity of our offerings. We are looking forward to continuing our fruitful cooperation with The Phoenix. Chen Halio's team has been a source of inspiration for us as they drove us to further develop our platform."

With TestCraft's codeless test automation platform The Phoenix is looking to expedite its development process and be able to update its websites on an ongoing basis. The Phoenix has already cleared its first hurdle on the way to test automation by getting the TestCraft cloud solution approved by their strict security regulation, a breakthrough approval in the Israeli insurance industry.
