Texas woman accused of setting fire to former Canton home

May 02-- May 2--CANTON A Texas woman is accused of setting fire to a northeast Canton home where she formerly lived to collect insurance money, according to Stark County Jail records.
Jacqueline K. Waters, 59, of Spring, Texas, was arrested at 7 p.m. Wednesday at the Stark County Jail on warrants charging her with insurance fraud, theft and two counts of aggravated arson.
According to Stark County court records, she is accused of setting fire the house at 1618 Laiblin Place NE on Jan. 22, 2018.
She was indicted by a Stark County grand jury and a warrant issued for her arrest on April 8.
Court records show another person also has been arrested in connection with the fire, but details were not listed.
Canton Fire Prevention Bureau investigators could not be reached Thursday for comment on the investigation that led to Waters' arrest. The residents were not at home when the fire heavily damaged it, according to a previous report.
Waters remained behind bars Thursday afternoon, held without bond pending court hearings.
