Tedford Insurance's Neta Prine and Leona McCabe help prepare for life's uncertainties

Denton ThomasonThe American

Helping clients to be prepared for life's uncertainties is all in day's work for the pros at Tedford Insurance.

Account managers Neta Prine and Leona McCabe are both fully licensed insurance agents at the Vinita branch, which Tedford acquired from Cabin Creek Insurance last January.

Tedford is an independent insurance company based in Jenks that offers clients personal insurance through more than 60 providers, including Allstate, Blue Cross, Chubb, Travelers, Cornerstone, National General, Nationwide and many others.

They can also write policies for residents in Oklahoma, Kansas, Arkansas and Missouri.

"In this office we write personal insurance policies like home, auto, motorcycle, rental and life insurance.

We're basically a one-stop shop for all of your personal insurance needs," Prine said.

They also offer fax and notary services.

Prine and McCabe are passionate about their clients and the surrounding communities.

"We strive to be the best at what we do, working hard to stay current within our ever-changing industry, offering personal attention and knowledgeable insurance advice," said Prine.

When asked about what the best part of their job is, Prine and McCabe both replied, "The clients. Definitely." "We've known most of our customers for years, so they're like family," McCabe said.

Prine added, "We treat you like family and will do our best for you. We'll work to get you the best rate with the best coverage. As an independent, we have many companies that we can write insurance for." There's a lot of ups and downs in the insurance industry. One of the difficulties right now is that a wave of natural disasters is forcing prices to go up, especially home insurance.

McCabe noted that Oklahoma home insurance rates are 27 percent higher than the national average.

"Overall, it's because of the impact of weather disasters. I think it's starting to get better, but very slowly," McCabe said.

Prine noted that Tedford owner Mark Tedford is a state representative for the 69th District in Jenks.

He's the current vice chair of the House Insurance Committee and also serves on committees for business and commerce, and common education, among others.

Prine said that Tedford, which has eight branches in Oklahoma, always provides great support for their agents.

"We have so much support from the home office. It's been a lot of help," McCabe said.

Tedford was founded in 1978 with the goal of offering sound insurance coverage to the hard-working people in local communities.

You can never eliminate life's uncertainties, but Tedford provides insurancebased solutions that results in peace of mind and a measure of freedom for their clients.

Tedford Insurance is located in Vinita at 107 E. Canadian Avenue.
