Team Updates at the American Council of Life Insurers

WASHINGTON, Sept. 8 -- The American Council of Life Insurers issued the following news release:

The American Council of Life Insurers (ACLI) is moving into fall with internal promotions to key positions, driving the association's leadership for the pivotal role life insurers play in helping families navigate financial shocks and challenges through all stages of life.

"We are positioning our talent to leverage strengths and increase impact as ACLI serves members and advances our mission," said ACLI President and CEO Susan K. Neely.

Neely said association staff developments include the following:

* ACLI has named its first Chief Inclusion Officer to reflect a sustained commitment to advance public policies that help more individuals and families build financial security, expand opportunities for diverse communities, and close financial protection gaps. Michelle Carroll Foster will fill this position, bringing 11 years of advocacy experience in state government, including more than four years at ACLI, where she has been a leader in efforts to advance consumer protections that safeguard access to tools to protect savings for middle-income savers and expand financial inclusion. Foster holds a bachelor's from Virginia Union University, a master's in public administration from George Mason University, and DEI certificates from Georgetown University and Cornell University.

* ACLI has named a new Senior Vice President of Federal Relations. Kathleen Coulombe will fill this position, following last month's departure of Kimberly Ross. Coulombe brings nearly six years of experience on the ACLI federal team where she specialized in retirement policy and served as Principal Deputy to the Senior Vice President of Federal Relations. She also worked for 13 years in government relations for SHRM. Coulombe holds a master's in public policy from George Washington University and is currently President of Women in Government Relations.

* Paul Kangas, ACLI Vice President for Financial Services, has been promoted to Principal Deputy for Federal Relations. Kangas has 14 years of experience in federal government affairs, including nearly five years at ACLI. He previously served as a senior professional staff member for the U.S. House Financial Services Committee.

* Last month, Lauren Colicelli joined ACLI as Director of Strategic Political Engagement after nine years with the National Association of REALTORS. Colicelli holds a master's in political management from George Washington University.

* Vytas Aukstuolis has been promoted to Manager of International Relations after serving five years as a Senior Legislative Analyst on ACLI's State Relations team.
