SUOZZI RELEASES STATEMENT AFTER REPUBLICANS WITHDRAW HEALTH CARE BILL
Congressional Documents & Publications
Today, Congressman Tom Suozzi issued the following statement shortly after House Republicans pulled the American Health Care Plan from the floor of the House of Representatives.
"This move by House Republicans is proof that Congress needs to move on from this ill-conceived bill and that we must work together on bipartisan legislation that provides high-quality, affordable coverage to all Americans. We're talking about people's lives, and they deserve better than what this bill had to offer.
"I've said from the very beginning that we need to 'mend, not end' the Affordable Care Act. I became Vice-Chair of the Problem Solvers Caucus to work with Republicans and Democrats to try and find solutions to this issue and other important issues. I call on my Republican colleagues to work with Democrats in a bipartisan fashion to produce a bill that makes sense."
