SUNZ Insurance Hires Derrick Killian as Senior Staffing Underwriter

BRADENTON, Fla.--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- SUNZ Insurance CEO Steven F. Herrig announced today the hiring of Derrick Killian as the company's Senior Staffing Underwriter.

Killian will serve directly under SUNZ's Chief Underwriting Officer Blake Souers. In this role, he will be responsible for the evaluation, selection, pricing and servicing of workers' compensation insurance policies within the company's procedures and guidelines. In addition, he will deliver a streamlined underwriting process to support the company's growth initiative while maintaining profitability of the workers' compensation program.

Killian graduated from Appalachian State University in Boone, North Carolina with his B.S.B.A in Finance and Insurance. Before joining SUNZ, he served as the Vice President of Specialty Markets at Synergy Coverage Solutions in Charlotte, North Carolina.

With 15 years of industry experience, Killian brings diverse, analytical, and comprehensive toplevel knowledge to the table. He has cultivated extensive knowledge in underwriting for higher severity classes of business including: Temporary Staffing, Healthcare, Non-Profit and PEOs. Furthermore, he has analyzed larger loss-sensitive risks such as collateral evaluation and has worked with the rate and product filing process in various states.
