SUNZ Insurance Company Hires Russell S. Whittle, Esq. as General Counsel

By a News Reporter-Staff News Editor at Insurance Weekly News -- SUNZ Insurance Company announced the recent hiring of Russell S. Whittle, Esq. as the company's in-house General Counsel. Whittle will be responsible for corporate governance as it relates to contracts, regulatory compliance and general corporate matters for SUNZ. In addition, he will assist with the legal oversight of the claim administration process.

With more than 20 years of experience in the workers' compensation area, Whittle has served as defense counsel for employers and carriers, and has provided legal guidance with respect to Medicare Set-Asides and Mandatory Insurer Reporting compliance. He is also experienced in drafting and reviewing a variety of corporate legal contracts including those pertaining to federal, state and local statutes and regulations regarding Medicare and healthcare.

In 1986 Whittle received his Bachelor of Arts Degree from Skidmore College and earned his Juris Doctorate from the University of Miami School of Law in 1989. Whittle is a member of the Florida Bar Association and the Manatee County Bar Association. He is also a member of various industry-related and legal organizations.
