Sta Fit employees help catch man fleeing police in Sartell

Feb. 04--SARTELL -- Two fitness center employees helped catch a man who was fleeing police after a car collision in Sartell on Thursday.
Sartell police arrested Joshua Keith, 37, of Bowlus , in the incident.
At about 7 p.m., Sartell police received a call of a car collision at Pinecone Road South and 23rd Street South. Witnesses told police one of the vehicles fled the scene after the incident.
Witnesses said Keith, the driver of the vehicle, then went inside Sta Fit, a fitness center just down the road from the scene of the car collision.
Staff was told Keith was involved in the car collision and had left the scene. Keith then tried to flee Sta Fit on foot, and two employees chased after him.
The employees caught Keith at Stearns County Road 134 and Thru Street, more than half of a mile in a direct line from the fitness center.
The employees held Keith until police arrived and arrested him.
Police found what they believed to be methamphetamine in Keith's possession.
Keith could face multiple charges, including driving after revocation, driving without insurance, failing to stop for an accident and a felony charge of being in possession of a controlled substance.
The Stearns County Sheriff's Department, Minnesota State Patrol and Sartell Fire Department assisted police in the incident.
