Sompo International Welcomes Richard DePiero as U.S. Cyber Insurance Product Leader

PEMBROKE, Bermuda, Aug. 14 -- Sompo International Holdings, a property and casualty insurance and reinsurance company, issued the following news release:

Sompo International Holdings Ltd., a Bermuda-based specialty provider of property and casualty insurance and reinsurance, announced today that Mr. Richard DePiero has joined Sompo Pro, the company's U.S. professional liability insurance unit as Senior Vice President, U.S. Cyber Product Leader.

Mr. DePiero brings more than a decade of cyber underwriting and broking experience to Sompo International where he will be responsible for Sompo Pro's U.S. cyber and network security offerings. Sompo Pro offers a broad array of coverages to address network security and privacy risks on a standalone basis and in conjunction with professional liability coverage. Mr. DePiero reports to Mr. Daniel Wadley, Executive Vice President, Sompo Pro and will work closely with Mr. Brad Gow, Global Cyber Product Leader at Sompo International, to further develop Sompo's cyber products and services. Mr. DePiero is based in the company's New York City office.

Mr. DePiero joined the company from Swiss Re Corporate Solutions where he served as Senior Vice President, Head of Cyber & Technology E&O Underwriting, North America, responsible for developing their cyber and professional liability strategy. Prior to Swiss Re, Mr. DePiero was Senior Vice President and Cyber & Technology Practice Leader for Marsh USA, Inc. He started his career in claims and distribution at Electric Insurance Company, a G.E. subsidiary. Mr. DePiero holds a Bachelor's degree in History from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst.
