IRVINE, Calif., April 8, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Addiction clinic placement specialist Sober Services has joined forces with Dream Recovery International, a rehab facility co-founded by Michael Lohan.
"Not all rehabs are legitimate," says Shane Earn, founder of Sober Services. "We've been looking at Dream Recovery International for six or seven months now and have determined it's a high-end, reasonably-priced treatment center that meets our standards for quality care."
Dream Recovery International is a new addiction rehabilitation center based in Boca Raton, Fla. Its co-founder, Lohan, was featured on CNN earlier this year as a guest expert. Lohan is uniquely experienced with matters of addiction. He and his family have faced their own battles with drugs and alcohol under the glare of Hollywood's spotlight and intense media scrutiny.
Earn, the Canadian-born, California-based founder of Sober Services, is pleased to welcome Dream Recovery International to its roster of clinics—some of the nation's top facilities.
Sober Services is an addiction clinic placement specialist—an advocate for addicts and their loved ones. It's goal? To place each addict with a treatment center that suits his or her needs.
"Just like no two people are alike, you don't raise two children the same—no two addicts are the same," says Earn, who has placed approximately 1,000 addicts in rehab clinics since he founded his company two years ago.
Sober Services currently works with 15 clinics across the United States—and has thoroughly vetted them all.
"We in no way work for any one treatment center. Our primary goal at Sober Services is to find the right treatment for the right person," says Earn, who will investigate any clinic at a client's request—even if that clinic is not on his roster.
Sober Living's placement and investigation services are free.
Whether or not the person seeking treatment has insurance, Sober Services will find a clinic that suits his or her needs. And for the best price.
Earn's passion for finding addicts personalized and fairly-priced treatment stems from his days as a rehab patient. Back then, his family agonized about getting him into a reputable facility.
"When my family called treatment centers on my behalf, they were so mentally distraught. They knew I was close to death. They would have sold the clothes off their back to pay for a treatment center," recalls Earn, who was a patient at two rehab clinics before he finally found a facility that was a perfect fit for him.
His family spent tens of thousands of dollars on rehabs in the process.
"Like many families out there, when you're calling a treatment center and you're in crisis mode, you're not willing to negotiate price.
"You have a sales person on the other line working specifically for that treatment center. You're telling him or her your story. And whether it's a good fit or not, that sales person is just saying 'yes, yes, yes, yes.'"
"And then the sales person tells you a stay will cost $40,000. And in desperation, you write a check or give them your credit card number.
"I don't want anyone else to go through that," says Earn.
"When a mother calls me saying she has a 45-year-old son who's scared of his own shadow, I'm not going to put him into a facility that's filled with young, high-strung meth addicts. I'm going to find a rehab that offers him a private room, a good dual diagnosis program and therapists with post-graduate degrees," he says.
"If I get a call from a 22-year-old female who was raped at age 10 by her uncle, I'm not going to put her in coed treatment center. I'm going to find her a women's-only facility so she feels safe."
