Shield Global Partners moving Downtown, adding jobs

Evansville Courier & Press (IN)

July 29--Shield Global Partners, a company that offers vehicle monitoring and accident impact analysis to vehicle leasing companies, is moving from Burkhardt Road to Main Street and within a year will add 50 jobs to its current workforce of 21.

Over the next three years, 80-100 more positions are to be created.

The company will occupy the third floor of Innovation Pointe, taking the place of SS&C, which has relocated to Sterling Square at Lloyd Expressway and Fulton Avenue.

Growth Alliance for Greater Evansville assisted Shield Global Partners in planning the major expansion of business.

"We envision a strong and growing presence in this community for years to come," said Wayne Collins, CEO of Shield Global Partners.

The expansion was announced at Innovation Pointe Thursday. Mayor Lloyd Winnecke, U.S. Rep. Larry Bucshon, R-8th District and Indiana Commerce Secretary Victor Smith were among those on hand to give congratulations.

The Indiana Economic Development Corp. offered Shield Global Partners as much as $800,000 in conditional tax credits and up to $100,00 in training grants based on the job-creation plans.

Those incentives may not be claimed until the company hires Indiana residents.

"At the end of the day, the government doesn't create jobs. The government simply provides the environment to try to attract that investment," said Smith, who represented Gov. Mike Pence at the announcement. "It's people like Wayne who are putting their hard-earned dollars on the line, and for that we say thank you."

A high-tech company, Shield Global Partners offers real-time accident data. It also works on appraisals and claims methodology for the auto insurance industry.

Collins said the company looks forward to being Downtown.

"I feel like Evansville is exploding in opportunity and vibrancy, and it makes us really excited to be here," Collins said.

With the addition of Shield Global Partners, Innovation Pointe will be 99 percent full, with 28 companies and 177 workers.

"Once SS&C graduated from Innovation Pointe, the third floor was in question," Growth Alliance for Greater Evansville Director Chris Kinnett said. "Wayne and I discussed the project, and the rest is history. We are gratified to have played a small role to help them get to this point."

Those interested in the jobs should apply to HR Solutions by calling 812-476-3180. According to a news release, the company "will be seeking high-integrity individuals who have research, strong communication and data entry skills. Additional positions will be available for individuals with claims, collection and adjusting backgrounds."
