Sen. Wyden Welcomes New Additions to Finance Health Team

WASHINGTON, May 11 -- Sen. Ron Wyden, D-Oregon, chairman of the Senate Finance Committee, issued the following news release on May 10, 2021:

Senate Finance Committee Chairman Ron Wyden, D-Ore., today announced new additions and changes to the health team of the committee's Democratic staff. Anna Kaltenboeck joins the committee as senior health advisor, focusing on drug pricing and outpatient prescription drug coverage under Medicare Part D. Eva DuGoff joins as senior health advisor, focusing on health insurance coverage under the marketplaces established by the Affordable Care Act, as well as the Medicare Advantage program. Liz Dervan will now lead the committee's work on Medicaid and the Children's Health Insurance Program (CHIP) as health counsel.

"Americans are counting on their elected officials to roll up their sleeves and solve the big challenges of today. Lowering the price of prescription drugs and making health care more affordable for families are two of the greatest challenges of this era," Wyden said. "Anna, Eva and Liz are top flight research and policy experts who will be instrumental in turning these critical health care priorities into a reality for families around the country."

Anna previously served as Program Director and Senior Health Economist at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center's Center for Health Policy and Outcomes. Prior to Sloan Kettering, Anna worked for IMS Consulting Group and the Analysis Group. She received her MA from Tufts University, and her MBA from Yale University.

Eva DuGoff joins the committee from Berkeley Research Group, where she was Associate Director, and the University of Maryland, where she was a Visiting Assistant Professor. She earned her PhD from Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health. Prior to her doctoral work, Eva served as a Legislative Assistant in Wyden's office during the development of the Affordable Care Act.

Liz Dervan, who joined the committee in July 2020, will now lead the committee's work on Medicaid and CHIP. Prior to joining the committee, Liz was an Associate at Manatt, Phelps & Phillips. She received her J.D. from Yale Law School. Liz also served as a Fellow on the Finance health team in 2017, during Republican efforts to repeal the Affordable Care Act.
