Sen. Whitehouse Introduces Bill to Establish Public Health Insurance Option

WASHINGTON, Jan. 25 -- Sen. Sheldon Whitehouse, D-R.I., has introduced legislation (S. 194) to amend the Public Health Service Act "to establish a public health insurance option."
The bill was introduced on Jan. 23 and was co-sponsored by Sens. Sherrod Brown, D-Ohio, and Al Franken, D-Minn. It was referred to the Senate Health, Education, Labor, and Pensions Committee.
