WASHINGTON, July 28 -- The office of Sen. Gary Peters, D-Mich., issued the following statement on the failed Senate Republican effort to repeal the Affordable Care Act in the Senate:
"Thanks to the advocacy and hard work of Michiganders and people across the country, Republican efforts to pass a health care bill that would hike premiums and strip health care coverage from millions of hardworking families failed last night.
"I hope we can finally move forward and work together in a public and bipartisan manner to find much-needed solutions that will help lower costs and improve health care for people in Michigan and across the country."
