Sen. Brown Calls for Bipartisan Cooperation After Healthcare Repeal Fails Senate

WASHINGTON, July 28 -- The office of Sen. Sherrod Brown, D-Ohio, issued the following news release:

U.S. Senator Sherrod Brown (D-OH) is calling for Republicans and Democrats to work together following failed efforts to repeal the Affordable Care Act. According to the nonpartisan Congressional Budget Office, repeal would have raised premiums and kicked millions of Americans off of their insurance.

"This bill failed because people in Ohio and all across the country spoke out and shared their stories," said Brown. "Let's kick the drug company and insurance industry lobbyists out, listen to the people we serve and come together to lower prices and make healthcare work better for everyone."
