Selective Insurance Group Announces Officer Appointments

BRANCHVILLE, N.J., Nov. 19, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Selective Insurance Group, Inc. (NASDAQ: SIGI), announced the following appointments by its subsidiary, Selective Insurance Company of America.

Jamie Beal (Long Valley, NJ) to Assistant Vice President, Director of Communications. Ms. Beal joined Selective in September 2015. Prior to that, she served as Senior Manager of Internal Communications at Toys"R"Us. Ms. Beal earned her bachelor's degree in Public Relations with a minor in Speech and Communications from York College in Pennsylvania.

Matthew Caton (Fort Mill, SC) to Assistant Vice President, Property Claims.  Mr. Caton joined Selective in July 2015. Prior to that, he served as Associate Manager of Property Claims for North and South Carolina for Travelers Insurance. He earned his bachelor's degree in Business Administration from Marshall University in West Virginia and holds the Associate in Claims, Associate in Insurance Services and Certified Insurance Counselor designations.

James Gottshall (Wharton, NJ) to Assistant Vice President, Analytics Strategy. Mr. Gottshall rejoined Selective in September 2015 after serving as Assistant Vice President, Analytics Integration at the Chubb Group of Insurance Companies. Mr. Gottshall earned his bachelor's degree in Mathematics from Pennsylvania State University.

Vaibhav Kalia (Bristol, CT) to Assistant Vice President, Portfolio Manager. Mr. Kalia joined Selective in February 2014. Prior to that, he served as Vice President, Risk and Quantitative Analysis at BlackRock Financial Management. Mr. Kalia is a graduate of Indian Institute of Technology (IIT Delhi) and Indian Institute of Management (IIM Calcutta) and most recently earned a master's degree in Financial Engineering from Columbia University in New York.

Nathan Rugge (Nazareth, PA) to Assistant Vice President, Actuarial Pricing. Mr. Rugge joined Selective in November 2009 as an actuarial assistant.  Mr. Rugge earned his bachelor's degree in Actuarial Science and Finance from Rider University in New Jersey. He is a Fellow of the Casualty Actuarial Society and is a member of the American Academy of Actuaries.
