Scrap Trumpcare, save businesses

The Affordable Care Act helped our family start two businesses that now support us because we were no longer had to keep a job in order to maintain our health insurance. Running our own businesses has given us flexibility to spend more time with our daughter in her formative years, and provide a good income from our efforts; these used to be a conservative values!

I'm shocked at the short-sightedness as regards small businesses, overall lack of creativity, and downright cruelty of Trumpcare. Excluding patients on the basis of pre-existing conditions, booting 24 million souls off of health care, is bad policy and it's absolutely un-Christian.

Health care is a right, not a product. Let's care for all citizens just as Jesus advised. Let's empower the small businesses that Republican lawmakers keep claiming matter to them, and let the insurance companies fend for themselves for a change. They are doing fine.

We don't need the rich to receive tax breaks so they create opportunities for us; we need a sensible public services, including sustainable national healthcare, that support all citizens so each one of us can thrive and create opportunities for ourselves. Save small businesses: Scrap Trumpcare, improve the ACA.
