The following information was released by the U.S. Senate Committee on Banking, Housing, and Urban Affairs:
Today, Senator Tim Scott (R-S.C.), Chairman of the Senate Banking Committee, released the following statement after Kevin Warsh was sworn in as Chair of the Federal Reserve Board of Governors:
"Today marks a new chapter for the Federal Reserve and for the families, workers, and small businesses counting on a stronger economy. President Trump chose a serious, experienced leader in Kevin Warsh, and I am confident he will help restore trust in the Fed, protect its independence, and keep it focused on stable prices and maximum employment. In South Carolina and across the country, families are working hard, doing the right things, and still looking for lower costs, more opportunity, and an economy where affordability is within reach. Chair Warsh understands that the Federal Reserve must stay focused on the American people, not politics," said Chairman Scott.
