Schumer Statement On Months-Long Republican Blockade Of Bipartisan Disaster Relief Legislation
Washington, D.C. - U.S. Senator Chuck Schumer today released the following statement after another Republican member of the House of Representatives once again blocked passage of the Senate-passed bipartisan disaster relief legislation:
"As Republicans continue their inexplicable months-long blockade of bipartisan disaster relief legislation, families in disaster-stricken areas are forced to keep waiting for the aid they desperately need. "First, it was President Trump, then Senate Republicans who held up this legislation.
Now House Republicans are taking their turn to stand in the way. "Republicans need to stop the political games, stop the delays and pass this bipartisan bill immediately."
