Ruth Anne Pattangall, Whitman resident, at 73

July 25--Ruth Anne (Rockwell) Pattangall of Whitman died Friday. She was 73.

She was born in Brockton and raised in East Bridgewater. She was a 1961 graduate of East Bridgewater High School.

Mrs. Pattangall earned her associate's degree in business and worked as an insurance broker for more than 30 years.

She was employed at several insurance agencies, including Edison Insurance of East Bridgewater and Rodman Insurance of Needham, where she worked until retirement.

Mrs. Pattangall was a member of the Eastern Star and served as worthy matron there.

She is survived by her husband of 48 years, James E.; three daughters, Sarah Kolb of Durnham, Maine, Heather of Nashua, N.H., and Rachel of Whitman; a son, Douglas; a brother, David Rockwell of St. Petersburg, Fla.; her grandson, Andrew Kelley, whom she raised, and eight other grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and three nephews.

A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 9 a.m. Wednesday at St. Bridget Church, Abington.

Burial will be in Union Cemetery, East Bridgewater.
