RSA Issues Statement on Civil Liability Bill Announcement

LONDON, England, March 20 -- RSA Insurance Group issued the following statement by Chief Executive Stephen Hester responding to the Civil Liability Bill announcement, which aims to cut car insurance premiums:
"These proposals are a long awaited opportunity to tackle the rising insurance premiums that have affected motorists, businesses and the NHS in recent years.
"A new approach to setting the personal injury discount rate and tighter rules around whiplash claims will help make the system fairer and reduce costs.
"We will be delighted to be able to pass those savings on to our customers."
