WASHINGTON, May 17 -- The Risk and Insurance Management Society issued the following news release:
RIMS, the risk management society(TM), has announced the addition of its 79th chapter in Spokane, Washington. RIMS Board of Directors reviewed the formal application, submitted by local risk professionals, and voted unanimously to establish the RIMS Spokane Chapter effective immediately.
RIMS Spokane Chapter's inaugural Board of Directors include: President Bob Brandkamp - risk manager, Avista Corp.; Vice President Sheryl Brandt - chief risk officer, Enduris; Treasurer Greg Lagreid - global risk manager, Pyrotek; Secretary Nina DeCamp - program coordinator, Business & Auxiliary Services, Eastern Washington University; and Delegate Yvonne Tanak - risk manager, Itron.
"Organizations around the world are calling on risk professionals to support strategic decision-making while also remaining focused on the challenges and opportunities that impact success," said RIMS President Robert Cartwright, Jr. "RIMS' chapters offer exceptional opportunities to strengthen our risk management knowledge and understanding, to access valuable resources and, most importantly, forge lasting relationships. We are excited for the Spokane business community and look forward to supporting the chapter's member engagement initiatives."
