Rick Childs Appointed Vice President, Underwriting For Construction

CHICAGO, July 20, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- CNA today announced the appointment of Rick Childs to Vice President, Underwriting for the company's Construction Segment, effective immediately. In this role, he will lead the Construction Segment in implementing its strategic and operational objectives, and will partner with Product Line managers, Risk Control, Claim and the Worldwide Field Operations teams to establish underwriting guidelines and best practices. Childs reports to Dave Rutkowski, Senior Vice President, Underwriting.

Childs joined CNA in 2007 as the Branch Underwriting Director for the Boston Branch. Since 2010, he has held the role of Construction Industry Leader for the company's Mid-Atlantic and Northeastern Zones.

Childs earned a bachelor's degree in psychology from the University of Massachusetts and holds the International Risk Management Institute (IRMI) Construction Risk and Insurance (CRIS®) designation, which is designed to help construction companies determine which agents and carriers have the specialized knowledge necessary to work with their businesses.
