Rep. Underwood Introduces Bill to Reduce Premium Costs of Health Insurance for Consumers

WASHINGTON, Jan. 21 -- Rep. Lauren Underwood, D-Ill., has introduced legislation (H.R. 369) to amend the Internal Revenue Code of 1986 "to improve affordability and reduce premium costs of health insurance for consumers."

The bill was introduced on Jan. 19 and has 14 co-sponsors. Co-sponsors include Reps. Tom O'Halleran, D-Ariz., Jimmy Gomez, D-Calif., Yvette Clarke, D-N.Y., Terri A. Sewell, D-Ala., Lucy McBath, D-Ga., Betty McCollum, D-Minn., Nanette D. Barragan, D-Calif., Al Lawson, D-Fla., Katie Porter, D-Calif., Donald M. Payne Jr., D-N.J., Tim Ryan, D-Ohio, Rosa L. DeLauro, D-Conn., Ted Deutch, D-Fla., and Mary Gay Scanlon, D-Pa.

The legislation was referred to the House Ways and Means Committee.
