Rep. Olson Participates in Brazoria County Hurricane Harvey Anniversary Discussion

WASHINGTON, Aug. 31 -- Rep. Pete Olson, R-Texas, issued the following news release:
Congressman Pete Olson (TX-22) participated in a Hurricane Harvey discussion panel hosted by the Pearland Chamber of Commerce on Thursday, August 30. Texas Land Commissioner George P. Bush, State Senator Larry Taylor, State Rep. Ed Thompson and Col. Lars Zetterstrom from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers also participated in the panel, moderated by Sasha Costa, Pearland Chamber of Commerce Governmental Affairs Committee Chairman. The panel provided an update and answered questions regarding Hurricane Harvey recovery and hurricane preparedness.
"Since Hurricane Harvey hit Texas a year ago, we've secured $537 million for critical disaster recovery projects in the Houston area and worked with government agencies to speed up FEMA home inspections, provide tax relief for victims of Harvey, and extend the National Flood Insurance Program," Rep. Pete Olson said. "Our work isn't finished, but I'm continually amazed by my fellow Texans and folks across the nation who came together to help our communities rebuild after Harvey. We truly are #HoustonStrong."
