Rep. Johnson Issues Statement on Anthem Leaving Ohio’s ObamaCare Exchanges
Targeted News Service
WASHINGTON, June 6 -- Rep. Bill Johnson, R-Ohio, has issued the following statement after Anthem announced it was pulling out of the ObamaCare exchanges in Ohio, leaving Ohioans in least 18 counties without a health insurer offering coverage:
"Anthem, one of Ohio's largest health care providers, is leaving the state's exchange - which means that at least 18 Ohio counties will not have a single insurer offering health coverage under ObamaCare. In Ohio's6th Congressional District, there will no longer be a health provider offering ObamaCare coverage in Guernsey, Harrison, Jackson, Muskingum, Noble, and Lawrence counties. In addition, a large number of counties in Ohio will now be down to one insurer - meaning no competition.
"This isn't just an Appalachian problem, or an Ohio problem; this trend is nationwide. This is why Congress must act. The House recently passed the American Health Care Act, to expand choice in the market, lower costs, lower premiums, reduce taxes and the deficit, and return more healthcare decisions to patients and doctors - not bureaucrats.
"ObamaCare has failed to meet the grand promises that accompanied it, and it continues to collapse. Today's news about Anthem is just the latest example."
