WASHINGTON, March 29 -- Rep. Jacky Rosen, D-Nev., issued the following news release:

Today, Congresswoman Jacky Rosen (NV-03) released the following statement regarding renewed efforts to tackle health care reform:

"I have always been open to fixing the Affordable Care Act," said Congresswoman Jacky Rosen. "We can all agree that costs need to be lowered, and that we can do more improve quality and stabilize market forces. I am willing to come to the table to have an open and transparent conversation on how to improve the current law."

"Republican leadership must have an open process to tackle big issues - not backroom deals and closed door meetings that result in hastily thrown together legislation that fails to resolve issues faced by families at home. The reality is that the Republican healthcare repeal plan would have been disastrous for millions of Americans, including tens of thousands of constituents in my district such as Medicaid beneficiaries like seniors, Veterans, and the disabled who rely on long term health services."

"I hope that Speaker Ryan and President Trump have learned their lessons from last week's defeat. I've been working to find commonsense solutions that will help lower costs for insurance buyers. That's why I am proud to have crossed the aisle signing onto legislation that repeals the medical device tax, which hinders medical innovation, and the "Cadillac tax," which taxes strong plans offered by employers.
