Rep. Dingell Introduces Bill on Diagnostic Examinations for Breast Cancer

WASHINGTON, Oct. 30 -- Rep. Debbie Dingell, D-Mich., has introduced legislation (H.R. 5769) to "amend title XXVII of the Public Health Service Act to prohibit group health plans and health insurance issuers offering group or individual health insurance coverage from imposing cost-sharing requirements or treatment limitations with respect to diagnostic examinations for breast cancer that are less favorable than such requirements with respect to screening examinations for breast cancer."
The bill was introduced on Oct. 28 and was co-sponsored by Reps. Debbie Wasserman Schultz, D-Fla., Brian Fitzpatrick, R-Pa., Tom Cole, R-Okla., and Colin Allred, D-Texas. It was referred to the House Energy and Commerce Committee.
