WASHINGTON, June 27 -- Rep. Gilbert Cisneros, D-California, issued the following news release:
Representative Gilbert R. Cisneros, Jr. (CA-39) condemned the Trump Administration's brief to the Supreme Court arguing that the justices should invalidate the Affordable Care Act. The Supreme Court will hear the Texas v. California case in the court's next term.
"Amid an unprecedented health crisis, the Trump Administration and Republican leaders are doubling down on their attacks on the Affordable Care Act. They're intent on stripping away life-saving healthcare from the American people," said Rep. Cisneros.
"If the President and Republican leaders succeed with their lawsuit, it would be damaging to families in the 39th District. Over 320,000 residents who have a pre-existing condition would lose their protections, and 70,000 residents would lose their healthcare coverage.
"As I have since my first day in Congress, I will keep fighting for 39th District families and work to protect their healthcare."
