WASHINGTON, July 28 -- Rep. Mo Brooks, R-Ala., issued the following news release:
This morning, Congressman Mo Brooks (AL-05) appeared on CNN to discuss the failure of the Senate to repeal ObamaCare. Brooks urged the Senate to not quit on the American people and to stay in Washington and get the job done.
Congressman Mo Brooks said, "Last night the Senate failed the American people. The failure was complete, from top to bottom. Majority Leader Mitch McConnell failed at the top. Luther Strange, the Senate's newest member, failed at the bottom.
"But today is a new day. Tough challenges require hard work. I urge the Senate to not quit on the American people. I urge the Senate to work 24/7 until they get America's health care right. American lives are at stake. The ability of American parents to take care of their children is at stake. There is an old saying, 'When the going gets tough, the tough get going.' I urge the Senate to be tough, stay in Washington, and get the job done. The House did it. So should the Senate.
"If the Senate can't get the job done. If the Senate quits. Mitch McConnell should also quit so that bold, new, conservative leadership can have a crack at getting America's health care done right!
"America needs a Senate Majority Leader who has the ability to advance President Trump's agenda. If Mitch McConnell can't do that, then he needs to step aside and let someone else try."
