Rep. Allen Introduces Bill to Audit Grant Funds

WASHINGTON, Jan. 27 -- Rep. Rick Allen, R-Ga., has introduced legislation (H.R. 640) to amend title I of the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act "to require that a State awarded a Federal grant to establish an Exchange and that terminates the State operation of such an Exchange provide for an audit of the use of grant funds and return funds to the Federal Government."

The bill was introduced on Jan. 24 and was co-sponsored by Reps. Todd Rokita, R-Ind., Blake Farenthold, R-Texas, Robert Pittenger, R-N.C., and Phil Roe, R-Tenn. It was referred to the House Energy and Commerce Committee.
