CHESTERFIELD, Mo. (AP) _ Reinsurance Group of America Inc. (RGA) on Thursday reported third-quarter profit of $284 million.
The Chesterfield, Missouri-based company said it had profit of $4.19 per share. Earnings, adjusted for non-recurring costs, were $5.20 per share.
The results topped Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of four analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of $2.94 per share.
The reinsurance company posted revenue of $4.07 billion in the period. Its adjusted revenue was $4.2 billion, which also beat Street forecasts. Four analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $4 billion.
