QBE North America Appoints Eric Pruss Head of Personal Lines P&C

NEW YORK, July 20, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- QBE North America announces that Eric Pruss has joined the organization as SVP, Head of Personal Lines P&C.  Pruss will lead the business of personal insurance products distributed through independent agents and brokers, affiliated agencies, and affinity groups, and is also responsible for overseeing QBE's farm and ranch insurance business.  The appointment underscores QBE North America's ongoing commitment to be a specialist carrier in North America with market-recognized underwriting expertise, deep distribution relationships and partnerships, and leading insurance products, solutions, and services.

In this national role, Pruss will plan and direct the Personal Lines business, developing strategy, building strong industry partnerships and delivering client-focused products and services to drive profitable growth.  He will execute on the vision to establish Personal Lines as a specialist competitor consistent with QBE's overall strategy of being a top-quartile specialist insurance and reinsurance company. 

Pruss brings over 25 years of insurance industry and management consulting experience, having led and managed within such successful personal lines operations as Chubb and Fireman's Fund.  His experience encompasses marketing, distributing, underwriting, and servicing insurance products, giving him an end-to-end perspective for how all these areas must interact to deliver enduring competitive advantage and growth.

Pruss is based in the New York office and reports to Driscoll.   He graduated from Cornell University with a degree in Operations Research & Industrial Engineering, and has an MBA from Emory University.
