WARREN COUNTY – Representatives from the Federal Emergency Management Agency will host an in-person open house from 3 to 7 p.m. on Jan. 21 at Lake George Town Hall, located at 20 Old Post Road in Lake George, to answer questions about the new preliminary Flood Insurance Study (FIS) and Flood Insurance Rate Maps (FIRMs).
The Open House will not have a formal presentation. Residents can join at any time and stay for any length of time during the meeting.
FEMA asks any resident with flood insurance to bring a copy of their declaration page.
Residents can also see preliminary versions of the FIRM and (FIS) report here: hazards.fema.gov/femaportal/prelimdownload. They can use the Old Paper Effective vs. New Digital Preliminary Data Viewer to compare the new preliminary maps to the current digital effective maps.
“Warren County urges residents who live in or near a flood plain or has flood insurance to attend this meeting to see what changes may be occurring, as it could have major impact going forward,” encouraged Warren County Director of Public Affairs, Don Lehman.
