NEWARK, N.J. (AP) _ Prudential Financial Inc. (PRU) on Tuesday reported third-quarter profit of $1.53 billion.
The Newark, New Jersey-based company said it had net income of $3.90 per share. Earnings, adjusted for non-recurring gains, were $3.78 per share.
The results surpassed Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of four analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of $2.68 per share.
The financial services company posted revenue of $19.66 billion in the period.
