Medicare is the federal health insurance program for older adults and some disabled people in the U.S., with government spending reaching $1.0 trillion in 2023. MA is growing rapidly, from 25% of Medicare beneficiaries in 2010 to 54% in 2024; the Congressional Budget Office projects nearly two-thirds of Medicare beneficiaries will be in MA by 2034.
