BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (AP) _ ProAssurance Corp. (PRA) on Tuesday reported a loss of $9.1 million in its third quarter.
On a per-share basis, the Birmingham, Alabama-based company said it had a loss of 17 cents. Losses, adjusted for non-recurring costs, were 6 cents per share.
The results did not meet Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of three analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of 20 cents per share.
The medical professional liability insurer posted revenue of $273.1 million in the period. Its adjusted revenue was $288.2 million, exceeding Street forecasts. Three analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $288.1 million.
