Primary 2026 results: Chris Gebhard wins GOP nod in 48th Senate District

Incumbent Chris Gebhard Republican has won the Republican nomination in the 48th Senatorial District.
According to incomplete and unofficial results, Gebhard has a commanding lead in the contest with Lebanon County horse farmer Clovis Crane. Gebhard received 18,178 votes while Clovis received 8,800.
The district includes northern and western Berks County as well as parts of northern Lancaster County and all of Lebanon County.
In Berks, incomplete and unofficial results show Gebhard received 5,323 votes while Crane received 2,686.
Gebhard was first elected to the post in a 2021 special election following the death of Sen. Dave Arnold. He owns Hoaster Gebhard & Company, an insurance and risk management firm in Lebanon. He has also served on numerous community organizations.
There were no candidates on the Democratic ticket in the primary.
State senators serve a four-year term and receive an annual salary of $113,591.
